The author took a month off, traveled to Montauk at the eastern tip of Long Island, to chase fish with a fly rod. Every angler should use this approach instead of stealing half days here and there or getting up before dawn, fishing for three hours, and then pretending to put in a full day's work which is just not easy to do. Kaminsky speaks about migrating birds, butterflies, and yes fish. After experiencing what all fishing fanatics love ...a huge blitz of bass just off the beaches of Montauck Pt he then decides to take the month of October off from his job in New York as a writer and fish everyday off the beaches of Eastern Long Island for striped bass, bluefish, false albacore, and bonito. This is a great read for all anglers and is a tough one to put down for sure.
