Brilliant

These clips are strong, easy to use, and don't appear to impede the action of lures. They are simply fantastic. Glad I found them.

TA 175

Fished TA's all last year on the west coast. No issues at all. Worked great at night with no light. I was able to fish a lot of plugs/lures in one outing...no more knot tying!

Awesome

These are great quick change clips. Best thing is that they are small, strong and don't seem to bother a striper from hitting it.

Pros: stout, easy to use for most lures
Cons: might be a big large for some applications

solid

i read the hype and ordered some up last season and have nothing bad to say here. they do their job. i haven't lost a lure or the clip and the knot even stays put. most lures are easy to clip in but YMMV due to the size and location of various line ties. the 125# will be too big for some sub-1oz lures, IMO. might give the lure a nose-down action. great size, however, for most surf striper fishing lures. they make a 50# which i have but have not used but have it ready for my small crankbaits and light rod.

I switched to TA clips this year and will not go back to anything else. The 175's are good for bigger plugs or jigging.

Tactical Anglers Fishing Clips (175 lbs)

Great clip. makes changing any type of lure easy, even if you tie your knot on wrong side! package has no instructions on where to tie knot. that's my only con.

Great clips

I love the fact that my leader stays put all of the time! no more having to move my leader back up to the middle of the clip like I had to with other clops. Still the same size as the 80# breakaway but has the strength of 125#! not to shabby!

Great clip

Definitely like these over the breakaways and others. I've had breakaways start bending outwards from loaded up casts and big fish. These? Not so much. They're a little big and tough to use with bucktails though!

a little more expensive than the 80lb breakaways, but these are great on bigger tins, jigs and shads and any other time you have a large hook eye to deal with

love these things, started using them late in the season last year and found them much easier to use in the dark, just a little tough on plugs with bigger lips

Good with big eyes

Been using the 80# Breakaways for long time; last fall got hold of some of the new 4 1/2 oz Tsunami swim shads that have the heavier duty Mustad hook as opposed to the Ultra Point Mustads; THese hooks have a much heavier eye such that the 80# breakaway clips sometimes (10%, say) would bind causing the shad to swim inclined to one side or another. Got out the other day and tried the 125# TA clips and didn't see the problem -- good news.

BEST OF SHOW

SAME SIZE AS BREAKAWAY'S 80 POUNDER, AND YOU DON'T NEED SPLIT RINGS ON THE FRONT OF YOUR TINS! GET SOME AND SEE FOR YOUR SELF. KNOTS AND LURES TEND TO STAY IN PLACE BECAUSE OF THE POINTED ENDS.

Pros: SHAPE MAKES SENCE

GOTTA BE THE BEST CLIPS

I TALKED TO CRAZY ALBERTO ABOUT THESE AND THEY HAVE BEEN PROOF TESTED ON BIG GAME IN THE SOUTH AND IT'S SHAPE MAKES SENCE. I'VE HAD KNOTS MOVE SIDEWAYS ON THE CLIP OF A BREAKAWAY. ARE BREAKAWAYS BAD? HECK NO! I'VE USED THEM FOR 6 YEARS WITH NO PROBLEM. A LITTLE IMPROVEMENT GOES A LONG WAY.

I hope Crazy Al will forgive me but when Tactical Anglers Clips first came out I wasn't an early adopter. I was being cheap and didn't see the need to switch from the clips I was using at the time. Thankfully, a conversation with a customer who had ordered these clips piqued my interest. After trying them, there was no turning back and now that bulk backs are available, it's a no-brainer. These clips are stronger and the 125# TA Clip is the perfect size for my surfcasting applications. LOVE these clips, two thumbs up.
The design just makes sense. The materials are strong and the product is well made. They have never let us down. All valid reasons to use and make the switch to Tactical Anglers clips without reserve. They quickly became my go to clip for the surf and light tackle. These days I've even become accustomed to avoiding settling for other clips even when the Tactical Anglers clips are hard to keep on the shelf!
