Pros: Gets down deep
Cons: easy for bluefish to kill

Excellent jetty lure

These shads are the perfect size to take large bass in deep inlets with fast current. You can feel the paddle tail thumping during the retrieve so you know your lure is working.

Pros: they work
Cons: tail lose, hooks
Recommended: Yes

effective

No need to be long winded swim shads work these are no different. Right place right time ect. I still think these could use more durable hooks but for such an expendible lure it may be hard to justify useing a real beefy hook and rasing the cost. In general i cant give any plastic lure a 5 rateing just for the blue factor. When they show up these get put away.

Swim shad

great from the boat or from shore. Only problem is blue fish love to eat just the tail, and kill the action.

When you don't know what to use

I go through lots of these fishing for schoolie stripers in the spring off Massachusetts but they have also worked well for me in Florida where I've caught a wide variety of different species on them.

Great lure for inlets and jetties

these lures are the best for fishing around deep fast moving currents like at an inlet. Cast uptide and let it get down into the strike zone. Bring in the slack, maintain contact and hold on. Good realistic look and the paddle tail gives off a vibration that the fish will feel too.

tsunami swim shads

These have been great to me this year. Never really used them, but after failing to entice the large marks on the recorder with my old standbys I decided it was time to pull out the tsunamis. The vibration from the large paddle tail make even the pickiest bass strike. Unfortunately bluefish make quick work of them, and a bout with a nice bass usually makes them unfishable. I would advise zap-a-gap or a similar glue to extend the life of these shads. I'll always have some on the boat from now on.

Spring schoolies

Apart from the JM, this is my favorite spring schoolie slayer. Great on light tackle.
