Fishhawk, if you want to try cork
rings, and don't have a lathe you can use a drill mounted in a clamped stand. Install how many rings you want on a paraffin waxed mandrel, glue each ring together then clamp and tighten in a cork clamp holder.Let dry over night put back into drill stand.Shape with rasp and sand sand with 80 grit.
