It's not that Potters. It's another one in SoCo. The Narrow River emties into the ocean on the north end of Narragansett Town beach and its fishing is no secret. You can get in with a small boat but pick your days wisely if your not familiar with the water. A decent swell and an outgoing tide make the entrance pretty messy for a boat but also ideal for fishing. Once up inside the area is littered with sandbars. If you follow the river inland it goes west under Rt 1A in Narragansett. Where it goes under the road is called Sprague Bridge and you can park and wade in either direction from there. After that the river turns north and goes under Middlebridge Rd (otherwise known as the pork belly), another good spot. Head further north and it turns into Pettaquamscutt Lake and goes all the way up to Gilbert Stuart, where the herring move up to Carr Pond and spawn. For all the water north of middlebridge you have to be pretty crafty to find shore access and the entire area is ideal for a kayak. This whole area is pretty popular and I don't think I'm letting the "cat out of the bag" by posting it here. It's a great area with year-round fish, early fish and summerlong fish. It also gets a lot of hickory shad and fluke as we get closer to summer. Hope this helps.
