Water temp holds little to no importance marking fish arrival. They have just barely made a showing in South County. Myself and another angler fished a well known schoolie local for four hours. He managed three, I managed none simply because I SUCK . They maybe over Newport way, they may not be. That being said the water temp at arrival is typically in the low to mid 40s. For no other reason than this is the average temp in early April.
