 Football Bluefin
Fished Tuesday for Footballs and had a fun day. Morning was pretty choppy, so we were trolling blind and only managed a couple of Bluefish. Wind dropped in the afternoon and we had a huge show. Bluefin everywhere feeding on top - good times. They were finicky as hell, keyed in on mini sand eels, but we managed one nice one. Here's a couple of pics - and yes, I stuck it when it came up - I needed the practice, and wanted to make damn sure it ended up on the grill.
This looked like early September out there - absolutely ridiculous to have this many fish in-shore in early July. This could be a huge season. |
