I don't know if anyone is ever in this forum, but here goes.
Started in S. Belmar yesterday morning around 5:30 AM. Picked up 2 shorts on a smack-it popper. Never saw any real bird action and by 8:30 I was on the road heading North. Fished my way up to the North end of Deal. Ton's of boats in Deal, and there were some birds, but they weren't on anything substantial. The boats were not running and gunning and all crammed together, so I have to figure they weren't on anything either. Anyway, no more fish, so I called it a day. Water temps still warm and with the air
temps around 80, the fish are not going to show. Hell, they're just starting their run from New England. I think we have at least 3 weeks before it turns on.
