I have the LL Bean basket. It's a nice basket, works fine, and is cheap. On the downside, it is heavier than the Orvis basket, but I don't think that I've ever cursed it for it being heavy while on a beach or jetty all night.

I have also made some home made baskets. I have wire ties in one basket, and some cones in another. Both of these baskets have lots of holes in the bottom to drain water.

I also have another rubbermaid basket that is the same size as the two homemade baskets. This has no cones, ties, or holes, and is just a plain tub like you would buy at the store. What I do with this tub is to place it underneath of the baskets with the wire ties or cones if I want to wade out into deeper water. This allows the basket to float, and keep out water from entering the bottom.

The great part about this set-up is that I can have both a basket with holes and one without in an instant. The one basket that has no holes simply slides around to my back if not needed. It may look a bit funny, but it's very effective. I can then cover different kinds of water, and not have to worry about not having an appropriate stripping basket.
