You can fish them from a boat but look out for standing waves and don't get too close to quonny. There's rocks all the way up the center to the channel. You'll lose a prop, maybe even worse. Quonny can be fished on the west side easier than the east by boat but the reefs to the east all the way to Fresh Pond Rocks are notorious for holding good fish. Also, don't fish close enough to interfere with the guys on the rocks. You'll probably end up getting bombarded by sinkers. Fishing the rocks to the east from shore is very productive as well. Right now especially. If you're looking for all the bait right now look at the south shore. It's pretty crazy with fish.
