All my plugs are SS through wired, I do not do the through hole on the hand carves until I sand the body out. I drill a 1/16” hole through the lure for eye placement and drill the larger hole for the eye when done sanding. I also drill the belly weight and hook hanger hole before sanding. As for being a bomber they are not. The shape is from a drawing I did. This is it with a bomber and you can see the difference.
