The black frame is a solid plastic type of board they use for commercial shower stales in gyms, they were scraps that were thrown in the dumpster at the job. The spool is from a roll of cat5 cable we use in work. The motor is from a roister oven my wife did not need anymore. I connected the spool to the motor with a piece of ¼ 20 bolt rod that is threaded into an aluminum coupler and attached to the motor via a setscrew. The bolt rod goes through the other piece of board and a small bearing. The bolt rod is centered in the spool with two hard plastic pieces I made to lock into the large hole in the spool. The plugs go onto some springs I got at HD and the other side is some SS wire I bent up to lock onto the spool. Not the best but functional and made mostly from scrap.
