I've run it countless times. Like any inlet, the combination of outgoing tide and incoming swell/onshore wind can produce treacherous conditions. Like sea wolf said, there are large boulders flanking the entrance that should be avoided. Stay to the right going out and left coming in. If you're unfamiliar with C'town, I would suggest you drive to the breachway by vehicle and visually inspect it before attempting to pass through in a boat. Better yet, go with someone who knows the place a couple times. I wouldn't launch the boat without doing a little recon as you could find yourself in dangerous conditions at the mouth of the breachway with no room to turn around as the breachway is narrow. On the inside, it’s shallow and narrow, so make sure you follow the marked channel on your way in and out. The plusses include great fishing nearby without a long run. Just make sure you understand the risks.
