You would have thought it was November out there
Took Jenks and Little Jenks out to hunt for Albies out front this PM - Left at the " Crack of 1:15" ( pm ) and blasted out front in a building SE breeze -
Took some shots at Brenton white water - with no joy -no birds - no nothing - save alot of big swell -( little Jenks liked the waves ) so we decided to head east.
Looked at the entire shoreline down to Doris Dukes - ( nada ) so we pushed on to Sakonnett -
Figured the outgoing current - and the white water was going to be a " sure thing" for a bass or two - but again nada
Every sure fire rock / pool/ ledge yielded nothing - not even a follow
More big water / waves - pretty scenery -but no fish
Pushed further east - expecting to see something break loose - but again nada
Went to Church's - looking for the " sure fire Albies" that were going to be haunting that area - and it was deader than a doornail
Decided that it was not to be - headed for the barn - in a still building SE that had kicked up some solid 4+ footer's - With a rapidly building western cloud cover - and a really snotty / wet ride back home- it felt like November
Peter G - we had a lot of discussion about your 20 ft to the Mudhole article - well written - and appropriate on a day like today - I would not have wanted to have been out in a smaller boat today
It blew up remarkably quickly - and the gentle rollers turned into waves really quickly
FYI - They are building a new reef - about a mile off of Land's End - with the remains of the old Jamestown Bridge - in 90 ft of water - Huge barge - with a bulldozer / front end loader on board - dumping the stuff over the side
Tomorrow is another day
