How to catch them
1. Buy some Yozuri Squid Jigs (my favorite colors are blue, and green)
2. you will need to make a double dropping rig with 20-30lbs test line. Roughly 1-1 1/2ft apart, with a 1 1/2oz bank weight on the bottom
3. a bright propane lantern dropped down to the water to attract the bait.
4. 5 gallon bucket
how to clean them
1. make sure the wife or gf is not looking because its going to get messy in the kitchen.
2. rubber gloves to keep your hands nice and clean while your working with the squid
3. dump the squid into the sink with some water about 1/2 way filled
4. pull out the spine of the squid. Its a clear piece of cartilage that runs through the body its easy to get to.
5. pull the head off and all of the insides should come with it. including the ink sack which isn't toxic
6. grab the wings of the squid and pull them off you can either save them like i do to eat or you can throw them out your choice.
7. pull the skin off the body
8. if there is still some ink or any insides left in the squid. I grab the body and with a finger i push the tail inside out to clean out the inside. Its tricky at first but after a few squids you'll be a pro. After that i turn them back inside out.
9. throw the body's into a bowl
10. on the head take out the beak it looks almost like a parrots beak toss it into the garbage, then throw tentacles into the bowl.
11. after a few boring hours of cleaning squid you will have calamari for many meals to come!!!
