they deffinetly work from an anchorded boat or a moving boat on the "slide" for tuna....havnt used them for cod but they deffiently work however their action is typically designed for open water jigging....i have used them for stipers and clobberd. internationally the long skinny jigs are supposed to be the best for tuna but here in the NE i have found the standard size ones to be more effective. for cod which is what i take ur fishing for dye to the depths u listed i would have both styles useing one or the other depending on whether they are on sandeels or herring.
imho dont waste the dough on shimmanos....for pretty much every species fish the old fashioned stuff works as well if not better....hammered diamond jigs in various sizes have caught most every species of fish i've targeted and i have done a bit of traveling too.
