Default Exponential Growth

[quote=Pete_G;7334]
It's tough to come up with an actual mathematical equation but the more time spent on the water the more your results from it grow exponentially.quote]

But if I WERE to come up w/ a ruff mathematical equation...

...Say the guy who spends every day out on the water is fishing 2-3x as much as joe average. Let's say all that experience is adding up to him being 2-3x as effective as poor joe when fishing the same spots/conditions. Only he isn't fishing the same spots under the same conditions because he's found better spots or times to fish those spots and he spends all his time fishing his most promising options (again multiply by 2-3).

Now for the formula... (They always told me basic algebra would come in handy)

If y = Joe Average's Success Then

y x 2 (twice as much time) x 2 (twice as productive spots) x 2 (twice as productive methods) = Sharpie's Success

or depending on just how good the Sharpie is (or if Joe really is below average)

y x 3 (3 times as much time) x 3 (3 times as productive situations) x 3 (3 times as productive methods) = Super Sharpie's Success

Plug in the numbers and it's scary... Say Joe Average has a bad week w/ just 1 fish... The Sharpie would have anywhere from 8 - 27 fish in the same week... And if it was a "good" week?!?

These highly scientific equations prove beyond a shadow of a doubt that I have waaaaay too much time on my hands
