Default Teaser Rig

crazy-

This is the method that i set up my teasers.

At the end of my line - I use a small spro barrel -

I then tie in my fluro leader - to whatever appropriate length I want - and set up my plug

( Peter G at the SWE was the one that taught me to move as much of the terminal tackle off the plug- and i agree that it does work alot better when the big barrels are off the plug )

I then tie in another length of fluro into the barrel shorter than the original length

I pick out a fly - usually smaller than the plug - and tie it onto the second line

I tie it at a length 0 usually about 6 - 8 inches in front of the plug - so that the visual effect is that the fly is being chased by the plug

I have never been very fussy about the fly choice

Something that looks good to me at the time

( your fly needs style points )

And that is the sum total of the rigging

It occasionally twists - ( i find that the twists are usually a result of a wide profile fly that spins in the air -some of the broad profiles that they have in the shop are real air spinners - yet rarely twist in the water ) but the occasional twists are worth the issue

the competition to get the thing that the other thing is going to eat - seems to turn them on more towards eating what you are presenting - and frequent doubles

I am sure that there are other - or better ways to do the rigging - but this method has served me well
