I would have to say, Don't be scared to use too big of a hook. I always use a 9/0 Owner circle hook when live lining or 3 waying live bunker. I've noticed a lot less missed fish when I made the jump to the larger hook. I also hook them through the top of the mouth and out the nose. The hook does a really good job of keepin the little frisky guy on. Give it a try and good luck! |
