| Hello all. I have these booked off in my calendar - let's hope work doesn't steal too many of them. A few questions: 1. Are kids learning to tie welcome? I'll bring a vise, tools etc for him. 2. I assume we all bring our own vices and tools. I'm not sure it's fiar that Corey fund the tying materials. How will we know what materials to bring? If I bring everything, the trailer won't turn around in the front lot there. LOL. Corey - thanks for taking the lead on this one. I checked out your website and thought it was well done. PeteG - thanks for providing the shelter and heat. You are providing heat, right? LOL. - ATG |

| Looks like its coming together fine. We'll do are best on tools/materials. Like I mentioned earlier we will have as many tools and other items on hand to help everyone who may not have everything or anything at all tie something. I really encourage the younger crowd only because if you work in this industry and look around we have nothing younger than what you see working at the SWE up and coming to fill the void when everyone gets older. Its really sad but video games and computers have really hindered the kids from wanting to be outside..... with that being typed bring them along. I'll have something for more of a format in place after Christmas and well try to stick to it but nothing is ever set in stone. Looking forward to seeing some people at any of the dates and I'm also in the works of getting a few "celeb" tiers to try and cover a night here and there so If anyone has any ideas please let me know so I can call them now and get them there. Thanks and Happy Holidays Corey ![]() |

| We would love to have you just let me know what night works best for you and what you think you'll tie. It would be great to see you as well and I know the people who might come by would love it just as much. Looking forward to it. Corey |

| Well with the holidays behind us and all the other stuff done its time to start cranking on the class. Now is the time to get any input on some guest tiers like Joe Cordeiro or E-Z Body Murphy or anyone for that matter. If someone has any ideas I'm open to that. Also, another major issue we could run into would be folding chairs and a few tables so if anyone knows of anyone or you have one of these items you may want to bring it along that would be a huge help. Not sure but it could be just me and the dog tying Thursday night or 20 people and and no seats LOL. Hope to see some faces on Thursday night I know it would be great to catch up as well as start tying myself. Seeing that I'm not sure how many people will show I'm going start slow with some basic patterns but effective ones. I think we should start that night off with a Ray's Fly and Clouser Minnow. Materials used for this fly are listed below. Any questions feel free to contact me via cell phone 508-509-3978 or email me at striper134@gmail.com Thanks Corey Jan 3rd, 2008 6:00 till 9:00 pm or (whenever you need to leave) ![]() Ray's Fly Hook: 2544 SS Size 2 Thread: Clear Mono or White Thread Body: Silver Bill's Braid Flash: Pearl Krystal Flash or Flashabou Wing: Bucktail White/Olive/Yellow/Blue Topping: Peacock Herl ![]() Clouser Minnow Hook: Gamakatsu SC15 Size 2-1/0 Thread: Clear Mono or White Thread Wing Bucktail White Belly and any color for the topping Flash: Any flash you desire Eyes: Lead Eyes or any desired style dumbell eyes heavy enough to turn the hook upside down in the water once tied with hair. | Ditto that Chris.. Thanks to all who showed up last night and thanks to Jeff Martins for the vise, Iron Mike for his tools, and Tattoo for allowing us to use his vise and tools as well. Dan and the US Armory for the use of the tables and chairs for the night. It was also great to see Chris C rekindle his tying spirit Thanks Again!I think everyone did a wonderful job for first timers and seasoned tiers. Good for everyone to get the webs off and start tying again including me who needs to get better with tying with thread again. All the tiers had stuff and came ready to go which was great. Thanks to Pete for hanging out and keeping the coffee going and Toby company. I think this should work out fine and I look forward to next week. Thanks again and when everyone gets a chance could you guys please send me an email so I can start a class email list to make sure we all stay in touch to some degree for pattern lists and ideas and possible attendance issues or changes. Thanks and be ready for next week! Corey striper134@gmail.com |

| This week will be a bit more up to speed what I think we'll tie is a Rhody Flat Wing which is much like the Ray's Fly but incorporates a flat saddle feather ties in flat on the shank of the hook to help promote profile from below and to make it look "alive" in the water when stripped or to allow to sit in moving water much like white water or current in an outflow or from tide. Then we will will tie a traditional Lefty's Deceiver in Chart/White. Recipes below and I look forward to having everyone again. Please bring whatever you have for the mentioned patterns and tools if you have them it sounds like we might have more people this week so I'm trying to make sure everyone is covered in all departments. Thanks and sorry about the delay this will get better if Chris can keep me away from the camera.......see everyone tomorrow night. ![]() Rhody Flat Wing Hook: 2544 SS Size 1/0 Thread: Clear Mono or White Thread Body: Silver Bill's Body Braid Flash: Silver and Gold Flashabou Wing: Bucktail White/Olive/Yellow/Blue Throat: White Calf Tail or hair from Tobys Tail Olive Dun colored Saddle Feather from a strung stretch or saddle patch preferred.
