Default canal continued

my time in new england grows short and knowing this weekend is a rhody game i made likely my last trip of the year last night into this morning.

anyway things started pretty slow, guess there where a few fish to the teens before i got there but i didnt have one fish till 2 am. however i then picked a few teen fish with one in the low 20's on jigs at about 5am. was going to move but a guy told me they had alot of fish where i was the morning befor to 40"...that guy must not know fish have tails stuck it out for one more teen and decided to finish the tide further west.

was a good move, third cast got one unofficial 31lbs long and skinny and a half dozen more from high teens to mid 20's, other then one guy who lost a slob, shoulda seen that rod buck nothing else going. got back just in time to get coffee and go to my 9am smelling like fish with hardcore striper hand

Really nice post arden. I like the "rod buck", those are the one's we all dream about. I'm real glad you had success, once again persistance pays off, sounds like you finally found a good spot.

well i lied, went back yesterday and today, go figure . yesterday was good again, not as good but i landed fish to 25 and had a random hook pull on a larger fish right off the bat again. today however they never showed everything seemed right but all i had was one rat and three other good fishermen i was with had squat but a couple bluefish hits. traveled around, hit the herring run for slack, right as the tide stoped a few fish chased herring to the surface, saw one BIG tail and threw the pencil at them. fish came up, hit missed, hit again and hooked up for a second then fish was off and i was somehow tangled with some goog who had hooked a small 29" fish, it musta swam up to the top at just the wrong moment.

oh well, way im looking at it mother nature didnt want me to blow all my mojo in mass and will be paying me in full over the weekend
