Default 10ft Blueshark

Fattest/thickest one I've landed (among many) 9+ft fork length, somewhere ion the 340-350lb range. on 30lb stand up gear.

Released unharmed. Snipped the wire right at the haywire twist

I dont know.
I lost track of time, 20min, more? 30min I dont really know....

Never had a blueshark rip off that much line on the surface before, 100yrds+ twice. then it settled in for a typical blue fight, sit deep and sulk...

Should have used the harness...

I know the feeling. Tangled with some 60+ pound bft on Tuesday on spin and I'm still feeling it.

How far south Pete (ballpark) we were looking, and set a spread for a bit on the way in and out, but my sense is they are still pretty scattered this early....

We trailered the boat and launched somewhere in Massachusetts.

Most of the worlds 50 to 80 pound tuna (guesstimating by what we saw ) are already way North of us. Pretty wild stuff going on out there. When simply giant schools of breaking tuna stay up for 2 hours straight, you know you're seeing epic fishing. I even fought a fish for 20 minutes, landed it, and my buddy then picked up the fly rod and instantly hooked up with out even moving the boat. The fish just never stopped...

I haven't found anything off RI yet either.

I'll get some pics up in the next few days.
