"The End of The Intense Schoolie Action"
One night not too long after the first two parts of the story took place I was at it again. This time one of the first casts produced a strike. I set the hook and the fish flashed underneath the surface. The flash looked much like the big fish I'd lost only a few weeks earlier. The fish took off on a Loooonng run. I was DEEP into the backing in what seemed like seconds. But after that long run the fish tired and I was able to gain line working him back in. As he got close he went deep and began to bulldog to the left. I was able to follow him around and finally bring him up. This fish was A LOT bigger than anything I'd caught on the 2 wt before. Only problem was there wasn't a good place to land him. There were some skiffs tied up to the dock and I was finally able to land the fish by hopping into one and gliding the fish up to the surface.
All told, the fish measured 32.5" - Well over 28" and putting an end to the intense "schoolie" action
