Angry Help! air brush wont spray

I have spent hours trying to get my new badger 150 air brush to spray. I hooked it up to the compressor and filled the bottle with pearl white createx paint and noting air goes through the gun but no liquid goes through. I tried shooting water through the gun and no soap. I have no Idea what I am doing wrong. Thanks for the help. Charlie

I was going to suggest you stop by but first, if you are not using "air brush" paints your paint is too thick and can't pass through, thin it down with some water and mix it, as you thin it you'll find that it starts to go through but sometimes grudgingly so add more water as needed, I always have a bottle or water handy to thin down the craft paints, you can get airbrush paints at Michaels, they cost a little more because they are pre thinned and their pigments are concentrated...

Scott I live in Little Compton. I am using createx paints. do they have to be thinned? they are sold as airbrush paints. I am seriously thinking of going down to Michaels crafts and trading it in for an iwata eclipse. Boy am I frushtrated. thanks for your help chuck

Chuck, consider the tiny hole that you are trying to force the paint through, even the AB paints generally need a little thinning, the Badger air opaques are really thin but most will need to be reduced...you mentioned that you tried water, does that work... meaning, is the water passing through the airbrush? if so leave a small amount water in the cup/bottle and try working backwards, add a little paint to the water, hopefully it will run through and you can thicken it up slowly until you get the coverage that you are looking for, one more thing..if you are using the little bottle with the tube in it, the paint will not flow if that tiny airhole in the cap is blocked...let me know how you make out, that's a decent airbrush you should be ok, ab's can be a little frustrating to start but you'll ge the hang of it, I use the 155....one more thing, that's a dual action I think ....so you need to press the trigger down to start the air and then pull back slowly to start the paint...just trying to think of anything that might be the cause of your trouble...
