I have been east. I was so far east last Sunday, I was seeing Chinamen everwhere. Went to Sakonet, and all around Stonehedge for hours and hours. I launched at Fort Adams, went all around in front of Brento Point, past both beaches and to Stonehedge and back again, and was skunked again. That is part of the reason I am so aggrevated. I have been everywhere except Point Judith, which is a little far out there for me. I hear people say, go up the bay, Barrington Beach, go out north to Breanton Point and Castle Hill, go east to Stonehenge. NOTHING, NOTHING, NOTHING, NOTHING, and oh yea, "NOTHING". I hear these great stories about people catching 40 bass, not just once, but twice in a week. 30 and 40 pounders. I am going to tell my grandkids that one. I appreciate the feedback, and the advice to not put up my poles yet, but until I can see the bass, and can walk across them, or something close, I can't believe the stories anymore. As I said, I have not caught a keeper since mid August, and have been completely skinked on my last 5 or 6 outings I think. So, you tell me, would you be discouraged, and convinced that the fishing is done for this year? I keep hearing that September and October is suppose to be better for bass, and they are bigger. Is that true? I can't believe any of that. I have been so thrilled to fish, and so looked forward to it, now I am looking for something I would enjoy as much. I have no idea what it could be, because I will not hunt animals with a gun or bow. I don't belive in it. Well, good luck to all of you on your outings. I will still love to hear of your successes anyway, as long as it is a true account. Stay in touch, and let me know when the bass are just jumping into the boats, cuz that's the only way I will catch one. LOL

Frightnight,
Someone as bitter as you NEEDS to go fishing. I don't measure my success on how many or how big my fish are but by how much I enjoy myself. Sure it is fun to catch, but it is great to just be on the water. I have not caught a keeper since August either. Just lots of little bass, but its been fun.

Thanks for the reality check. I agree, and appreciate the kick in the ass. I am over it now. I was putting a lot of time in with no reward, so was a little frustrated. Ok, a lot frustrated. Had to step back, take a breather and realize it's only fishing. Supposed to be for stress relief and relaxation, and ended up doing the opposite. That was my fault, but am back on track now. I thank everyone that has helping me through my stupid stage with the same type of responses. I am going to take some time off, and when, and if I feel like it, I will go out again, and whatever happens, happens. Good luck to all of you, and especially everyone who has given me kind advice.

yup they are still there and from shore yet... 2 bass and 4 blues... first bass took a SS darter first cast she was about 30".... second guy came as the sun started to poke up above the horizon slammed an eel but swallowed the thing (when i cleaned it out i saw why... belly was full of lady crabs)... this one wouldn't lay still for the tape so i guesstamated around 34-1/2 to 35"... once the sun came out it was over... 4 blues and i called it a morning...

Talked to a guy this am who went out at dusk last night who said the blues were doing damage on the Middletown side of the sakonnet river... don't mind my directions either... I said North but meant East as i get to see the sun pop up over my left shoulder... now i take a break as i have to return to work...
