Default bonito

If it's a point and it sticks out in the ocean in Rhode Island it probably has bonito.

It's as good as it gets for those fish right now.

I don't know, was it blaring out of the boat when you came by?

Definitely a great day on the water. The fishfinder was lit up all day with bait and fish.

Very encouraging...

That's actually very disturbing news about the seals. Ask a Cape Cod surfisherman about seals and you'll get an instant frown.

As you can imagine, the bones strapped on the feed bag again after you left. We were tripled up at one point. As the tide slacked the action slowed though and it didn't pick up again as it started moving again either.

Corey had the Parker at meatwagon status and dragged home a feast worth of bonito...

Of course it picked up after we left ........

It was a great day none the less - nothing broken - all the rods / reels in one piece ( seemingly a new record for me )

I will toch base later in the week - as I have my Dad coming up next week - and would love to get him tight on some fish

I know the issue re the seals - but it still is cool to see them none the less

Sounds like we all had success with the Bones this weekend. I was solo on Sunday and went 6 for 8 and 1 Mahi. Yesterday I went back to see if we could find anymore Mahi and failed but found the motherload of Bonito. We boated 18 and lost half as many more. At one point we had a school next to the boat (while I was on a work call and fighting a fish) that stayed up for 10-15 min. My buddy landed 4 Bones while I was landing 1 and talking at the same time. Just awesome fishing for the bones and better than I have ever seen it. Also heard some rumors of footballs in the vicinity any confirmation????

I've been hearing rumors for 3 months now about footballs. I haven't seen one, none of the guides have seen one, and no guides we stay networked with has seen one in RI Sound. There's been a few random sightings around the Block but that's about the extent of it.

It's not to say they're not out there, but if they are they're rare to say the least.
