Default #@%$ Albies....

Well, I decided a few days ago, after 2 weeks of unsuccessful attempts (fishing just about every single morning) to hook an albie or bonito in the usual south county spots + numerous trips to Block Island that I am throwing in the towel on them this year....unless I see evidence of big change in the next week or so. I have barely even gotten any looks at them, Nor have I seen the people spin-fishing around doing any better (so I can't blame it on fly fishing). Brutal....

In response I have reverted to my "normal" nocturnal bass habits, and have had a ball the last two nights with plenty of stripers in the 20-28 inch class at a local out-flow. Nice to remember what its like to catch a fish!!!

Sorry for rant, but the lack of hardtails had been gnawing at my soul.

Talking 28" bass.........

I'm like you are with the albies when it comes to legal fish. I have not caught a keeper in over a month, although I catch fish nearly every day. The one I hooked on Friday that subsequently hooked me was about as close to a keeper as I've had in a while and I didn't take the time to measure that one.
