Default 10/9 Fish Report

Got into some mid-high teens bass in NPT. I also got a nice blue which I've been waiting for to make my thanksgiving smoked bluefish pate'. Beautiful night on the rocks and I would have fished long but Im probably the only guy who had to work on Columbus Day. Figures, the bite was on and I had to go home. Oh well....looks like a good week to fish.

Note - I can't remember a night as good as this with a full moon.

I was in NWPT for a while last night and could not buy a bite. I made a move and found some nice large on snakes. I agree, probably one of the best nights I ever had with that big lantern in the sky.

I fished from noon yesterday until 3:00 a.m. this morning, on my boat. Went all Prudence. Got nothing but did lose my rubber cover for the back of my boat. Went to Gould, got one schoolie bass, which jumped and drove the other hook through my finger. My friend lost many plugs and so did I, he flipped out, and cast his line in anger, and his sinker snapped off again, and bouced off the medal railing with the force of a cannon, and I never laughed so hard, I was crying. Forgot not to anchor there, and got anchor stuck, so had to cut it away. Went to break wall near navy base, where my friend hooked up to a blue, which caused him to slip of the swimboard on the back of my boat, and almost drown. Then went to Newport bridge and the tide was flowwing out of the bay so fast, faster than I have ever seen. It was like a river, and the blues were jumping like crazy. I caught one more schoolie bass and a small blue, and my friend caught a schoolie blue, and that was it in fifteen hours!!! Total of 5 crappy small fish between the two of us. But not before he caught his plug on a bouy and when we moved the boat, his pole flew off the boat and sank. Everything went wrong, we were out way to long, caught a few crappy useless fish. NEVER LAUGHED SO HARD IN MY LIFE, at all the mishaps. I had the best time, and can't wait to do it all over again. ha ha ha ha ha
