Default EP to SoCo

Went poking around water from Riverside to SoCo last night and this morning. Lots of schoolies in moving water way up inside Bullocks cove. All of those peanuts everyone has been waiting for are still up there too. BIG blues are also in the area pushing them around. Haven’t found any decent bass in a little while up there though. I did see a rather large school of adult pogies up in the same area just flipping around on the surface. That is always a good sign.
Although this early mornings conditions were perfect for SoCo, SE 15-25, rain, lightning, whitewater, etc, the fishing was pretty stagnant except for some giant blues and a couple schoolies. Haven’t seen much bait through the breachways either which is kind of odd. Tough to keep the fish around with only a few miscellaneous pods of silversides around I guess. Something’s got to give down there and I want to be there when it happens because it’s likely to be epic when it does. SoCo doesn’t stay quiet for long. People are talking about a late fall this year and I hope it happens. I have no problem fishing on Christmas Eve! How’s everyone else doing?

Hit Newport briefly last night around 10pm. Fished only for an hour or so, one spot. Basically I was just making sure no one was home at a traditionally productive fall spot. One soft tap on a black Habs needle and that was it. Plastics went untouched by both bass and teeth. Impressive gale though, the rain that was falling almost hurt.

Did the beach thing for a while yesterday - in between conference calls - ( this work thing is really screwing up my fall fishing )

Worked the beach at Little Compton - nothing at all - where i would have been picking them up a few days ago - no one was home

three passes up and down - with different plugs - and storms - yielded othing

Moved over to Sakonnett - and walked the beach there - out to the tip and back - and again nothing

This just means that they are all piling up - for a massive weekend feed
