Default On the way home from work...........

I was headed home from work and decided to stop and make a couple of casts - can't catch fish unless you are on the water. If you recall the last time I tried that I ended up in the ER explaining to my wife the 2/0 hook in my finger. Tonight was better. I set a ten cast limit. Cast number 2 resulted in a hook-up. Nice 34" fish that hit my teaser (thanks rrabiner), and in fact tossed my plug somewhere in the bay. Anyhow, Mrs. has been wanting a fish, so this one came home. Nothing in the gut, absolutely nothing. I was very surprised. (yes, I am wearing dress pants).

I saw some blues working bait near Bishop's rock and the gulls were under the bridge when I caught this one. Some guys saw me loading it up and said they'd been on the water out front all day and saw little, caught nothing. They were green over my little fish for sure and certain. Pretty sad when a mediocre fish gets attention, but I'm not complainin'!

You bet, feel free to use it, though I am not sure it is a worthy fish, I'm glad to share.

Default Tonight on the way home..............10/18

In keeping with this thread, tonight I stopped again for a few casts and landed a 27 and 25 inch fish. Only had a few minutes but that was productive. Be nice to find some bigger fish that willing to hit, but I'm happy to have caught those.

i hit SoCo last evening and did absolutely nothing. the conditions were good as the surf was up and a very nice sweep. my fishing partner got 1 blue around 10-12#. what strange year it has been. i am at a loss as to even where to look for fish.

Yesterday on the way to work I got another one, a couple inches bigger than the one I started this post with, from the same rock. Not huge, but much better than the rest of the fish I've been catching. Nothing like catching a 16lb striper in slacks and a tie.

In a tie ?

What's next - are we going to see an Article " Formal Wear for Fishing"

"The perfect Tux for working the Rock's"

"Matching your fly to your cumberbund"

Is this rock available to the public? or is it Navy Property ?

In keeping w/ RRabiner's last post... This sounds like a slippery slope ... Next we'll be fielding request for a "Men of the SWE Forums" Calendar
