Default Tog?

Anyone catching Tog yet? Even though its my least favorite fish to try for. (I tend to loose lots of gear) Damn tasty fish tho.... Anyhow just curious.

Default tog spearin

Do any of you guys like to spear for Tog or no? I found thats the best way to save on losing gear.

Although I haven't tried and I haven't fished for spring run blackfish in a while, a good rule of thumb was always that the blackfish arrive with the first dandelions. Sort of like stripers and the shadbushes. And I don't know about you, but my lawn has dandelions, soooo . . .

no dandelions in my lawn..heh heh...but they are everywhere, I want to take my daughter out to catch some blackfish, that 's how dad started me...

I agree spearing them is much easier, and so easy. They are a lazy fish, which makes for an easy target.

Default Dandelions and Togs

I fished with a group of about 5 down at Pier II on the Navy base yesterday and we all limitted out. The report was of some 12 pounders caught last week but ours averaged over 6 lbs. Pleanty of fish for everyone.

Default Tog Bait

I spent three days fishing Tog last week and caught about 15 with 8 good keepers. Best bait going for everyone continues to be green crab on a double drop rig. Keep one close to the bottom.
