Question Where have all the fish gone?

Monday - lots of fish around, glassed several schools beneath birds above the bridge, caught a keeper in the am and a couple of blues after lunch. Broke my fly rod and still had a good day.

Tuesday - ran the bay from Dyer Is. to Castle Hill, never saw a fish. Hooked one blue fish.

Wednesday - Saw no fish, anywhere.

Thursday - Ditto.

Friday - Ditto.

This is not looking good. This current front is sure going to cool the water off - what is that going to do to the fish? Are they all in the upper bay?

I have heard the Upper Bay is doing it's normal early September routine, i.e. bluefish in all the normal locations. Don't be afraid to go up into the Providence River if you want bluefish.

Maybe we might just need some consistent weather to solidify the action. Big whitewater is forecast for the next few days, maybe that'll get the fish going.

Reckon I'll give it a go tonight and see. Can't catch fish sitting in front of the 'puter.

I would be out right now if it wasn't for the fact that we ran out of fresh bait... Everything i threw out was ignored except for this little white custom danny... but with some monster blues on the prowl i wasn't about to get it destroyed....

Chunked pogies was what the bass wanted and they were in on full force but excited as we all were we acted like "overly excited" due to the fact that our rods were bending (yes the loomis 1267 does bend) and drags screaming... managed to land 1 fat slob @ 44" and another guy fishing with us droped one as he dipped the rod to pick it up that was just as big right at his feet... tide turned and it was nothing but doggies....

I won't give up my plugging rods anytime soon but man o' man it's been a long time since i have seen that kind of action...

Got a bunch of schoolies on plugs last night and lost one about 30", all on top. One blue fish wanted in on the action as well. It was fun, but biggger would have been a little better, Momma wants something to grill............

I've lost more keeper sized bass than I can count this summer. My luck has has been on the bad side all summer long.I haven't had anything on the grill since early June. While I get plenty of joy out of catching undersized fish on my lighter setups,I'm ready for some grillin'.

I reckon I should clarify my post, having just read it, my partner got a bunch of schoolies on plugs and lost the keeper. I caught one on a popper and the rest on a flatwing. Pretty cool when the fly rod out fishes the spinning rod. The last few fish were 26", despite all our efforts to grow them bigger.
