Default Reel seats

Ok,,, i will try agin on this forum,,, did not get any replys before,,, maby i used the wrong forum,,, does anyone have any feed back on aluminum reel seats,,, i was going to build a rod with one but not to sure as to how well they glue on or feel,,,etc,,, going to build an XRA 120 8 plug rod going to use my VS200 on it

i only use or recommend aluminum reel seats on boat rods that will be in high stress or might get abused. in the surf, they are not really needed. they can be cold in the early and late season, build up salt if annodized, and will scratch if they are not silver. plus, they are up to 3 times as expensive as a fuji reel seat. why are you considering an aluminum seat over a graphite seat?
