Default Tagged Bass...

Although he spit the hook before I could get the number off the tag, one of the schoolies this evening had a tag. I'm wondering how common an occurrence this is?

Default Never caught one with a tag.

I have caught thousands of stripers and never caught one with tag. As a hunter, I have 30 to 40 tags from geese & ducks. I tagged a blue shark 5 years agoo off of Fishers Island and tag was recovered 3 years later in the Azores....amazing, Chuck

catch 2 or 3 most years, most have been small fish with yellow tags coming from the nj littoral society. these get u a certificate and a hat, not bad. however, i have had 2 pinkish red tags that though only getting me a hat got me entered in a raffle for a bunch of cash

Yellow loop tags are American Littoral Society while the pink stick tags (simialr to those that would go in a tuna) are from the Hudson River Foundation. I for one have not caught many tagged fish. One to be exact, and because of the location I think it may be a boomerang fish. Still waiting on the return info.
