Attractants

I'm sure by now most of us have used attractants in an attempt to catch more fish or have a definite opinion. Some use it, some don't. My brother in law, don't, and usually ends up wiping the bay with me. Not amusing! We both have a cigar when we go out and other than that being equal he always has gas and sunscreen and I usually do not or I always wash it off. So begs the question. Does it matter if your using i.e. herring, eel or even sandworm when your in the middle of a school of bunker? Does a sort of match the hatch scenario exist here being that a fish's sense of smell is so great that they would avoid your presentation becuase of it?

These are great questions... I think Steve M. uses the herring. I'm of the camp that it can't hurt... In the water that is... Because I think the RonZ, smelly Jelly, sticky liquid, Seabait Wands & Potion have combined to put a BIG HURT on the aroma of the shop.

On two separate occasions I fished side by side with a friend of mine, using same line, leader, hook, bait, and cast within 10 feet of each other just to find out. He used attratant, I did not. he killed me both times. The first time I got skunked, and he landed 4 keepers. Since then, I use it everytime. In the last week I caught a 20 and a 21 pounder. I just caught Sunday. I did not catch any this size before this or at all, the entire year last year. I have caught so many more fish this year also. If you remember last year, I was so frustrated, writing in and whining the whole time about getting skunked every night. I know I have aslo learned more this year, but, I swear by the stuff, and never fish without it. I think I was only skunked 3 times this whole year so far.

Have yet to catch with it, but I found some EEl Potion at RISAA and am out of it now. Loved to use it when I did on Sluggos and Surfhogs................to no avail as of yet.

Have been leaning more upon the real thing. Am only adequate when it comes to soaking snakes, and am finding more ease with each time I use them. Most everyone I speak wit says that EEEEEEEEEEEELS are the way to land a Trophy!
