Default which loomis surfrod 962s 965s 1023s

i need a versatile light lure rod for 9 and 7 inch weighted single hook sluggos, bombers, cordells, bucktails crippled herring etc have tried the 962 find it kinda lacking so what say you all??

G. Loomis | 8' one piece | 15-30lb | 1/2 oz - 1 1/2 oz
Mod-Fast ACTION
Code: SUR965S
Price: $230.00
This spinning rod was designed mainly to throw bait or jigs for cobia and amberjack. A great light-duty rod for small tarpon and barracuda on the flats, it won't let you down when the big one tries to steal your bait. It has enough power to fish the bridges and piers and it's light enough to wade with and cast all day long. If you like fishing off the jetty, this makes a good utility rod. It has a long handle with cork grips and graphite barrel reel seat, capable of casting a couple of ounces or more. A great all-around spinning rod, even in fresh water.

G. Loomis | 8' one piece | 10-15lb | 1/4 oz - 1 1/2 oz
FAST ACTION
Code: SUR962S
Price: $215.00
A delightfully powerful 8-foot, one-piece rod for light-duty surf and breaker fishing. It's the perfect rod for summer and fall surf action for school bass, small blues and weakfish, but don't let the light-duty part fool you. It handles light metal exceptionally well and has more than enough power in the butt section to handle larger fish. It's an impressive rod with nice, crisp tip, capable of tossing 1/4 to 1 1/2-ounce lures out of sight, and you'll have no problem pulling your prize out of the wash and onto the beach.

G. Loomis | 8' 6" two piece | 10-20lb | 3/8 oz - 1 1/2 oz
EXTRA FAST ACTION
Code: SUR1023S
Price: $230.00
A two-piece jetty stick, designed to fish shrimp with a popping cork, live minnows, or plastics for trout and flounder. It also makes a great wading rod for puppy drum. Not only is it lightweight and super sensitive, it's surprisingly powerful.

Default Moderate action better for slug-gos?

Wondering if the moderate action of the 965 help you stay in better contact w/ the slug-go... What was "lacking" in the 962?

For what you described I love my 1084, the thing is a real rocket launcher, Fishes the sluggos great. They dont make it anymore. its now the 1064 at 8'10". Cant imagine thier would be much of a difference. Dont know why they cut it down 2", maybe something to do with shipping costs. Dont really want to go much less than 9' in the surf, at least I dont.
