Default Night Time Surface Fishing Method

Riddle me this please. My brother and myself were on the Squantum harbour last night between 5 and 9:00 PM. I caught two bluefish around 6 Lbs a piece. The water surface started to boiled around 8PM (Sun down & Dark already). We threw everything we had at them and got nothing.. Not even a nibble... Any ideas? Here is what I used to catch the two Blues.. A transparent Yellow Super Strike Little Neck Poppers... However, After dark, they just do not want to bite and I ended up cycling my entire tackle bags with these other lures... After Hour White Needles, After Hour Yellow Spook, After hour White Spook, Youzori Mag Darter, a Holo Blueback Smack it Popper, a Yellow smack it popper, even a Kasmaster 2oz Mack color.
These fishes were jumping and taking peanut bunker all around us but we can not catch them no matter what we tried... Can they see at night?

anyway, what do we need for night time fishing the next time we run into another one of these surface action (besides an Eel)? Thanks for any help...

Xman

probably very small schoolie stripers hitting the very tiny bait fish, and that is usually what their mind is set on, and won't touch the bigger lures.

Sounds like a job for a Pt. Jude Teaser...

Drag one of these in front of your plug. You could also try a casting egg to get a fly or teaser out.

Thanks Pete, that is a great idea.. I will add a teaser to my line the next time I ran into this problem again.
