I was on the web doing research about Rhode Island Fishing and I found this site. Great site, I have spent the last few nights reading anything I could (stuck in a hotel room in the middle of no where). I have learned alot but I have a few specific questions. I have to go to the Newport area for work at the end of September or begining of October. I hate my job (actively searching for a new one), to help me keep my mind from going insane I bring alone fishing gear. I hear parking can be a pain. Any advice on where to park and not get a ticket day or night? I plan on fishing both. Any General places to start looking for fish (by fish I mean blues or bass)? I don't want your rock just a starting point, the hunt is part of the fun. I like to lure fish, not realy into baiting. I have an assortment of bucktails, plugs and tins, anything I should definitly have? (color, size, pattern) I am not looking for a world record just some fun. I have the store already in my GPS ready to go so if I do need anything I am ready. Sorry, I know its a long post but I have nothing but time in this hotel. THANK YOU FOR ALL OF YOUR HELP Tight lines mako19

I will stop by thats for sure. I have some movement in when I can come down. Is late September better or is begining to middle October. Another Question. Work allows me to spend about 150 bucks on a hotel room, any ideas. I would like to be close to fishing but we can't have everything if it doesn't work out. Thanks again for the help

150 bucks in newprt could be tough. you might have to stay outside a little. but hotels.com is your best bet. good luck on catchin some fish and having some fun. shouldnt be to hard to get into some blues. THEY ARE EVERYWHERE around dusk, blasting everything you throw at them.
