Steve, I think I've seen some in a couple of local stores up the NShore way. I'll pick you up a coupla pkgs of black?, white?, red/blk? Not too sure of the available colors. But I will look into it. The first of the year is way too late, my friend. Lemee know how much of each and which that you would like, and I'll do my best to round some up for you!

Bass Dawg-- I'd be surprised if any retail store has them(12 inch Slug-go). Herb Reed advised that they are not ready for sale yet and won't be for a while. If you do find them give them a try. Thansks, Steve

Ooops, My Bad Steve!

I was mistaken, I thought I saw some at Dick's but they were the 10" Fin-S'. Not even close. That's too bad about the 12" Sluggos, was looking forward to slingin' them into some COWS' mouths for the Run. Guess I'll have to settle for some rigged eeeeeeels .

Thanks again for everything,

Jess

One alternative is Hogys which come in 10, 14, and 18 inch sizes. I don't like them as much as sluggos but you can rig 'em more or less like sluggos, with some adjustments.

I found out yesterday that bluefish love em too .

very interesting on the rigged eels comments, As I surf fished them for a number of years in the 70s and a dozen fish over 50# and many between 40-50# and the guide on the state record in Maine 67# all on eels-alive and fresh, I can't recall any fish caught on a day old dead eel? How ever I got a 56# one nite that was not even hooked as the eel was in a ball and the bass wrapped the line around itself trying to eat it. Goes to show they work on scent a lot. As far as the eelskin plugs goes; I tried them but I didn't care for them. Having to keep them in a brine was a pain. Yes the real fresh eels were all hooked up thu the lower jaw and out the nose. The Bass is going to suck the eel in head first.
If you guys want to look back on one of the world record Stripers 76# I think?
It was caught on a black streamer fly behind the live eel. Something you guys might think about?

I have 12" Sluggos. Two 9" Sluggos, a pair of scissors, and some superglue = 12" Sluggo. Simple!
