Default Spheros 8000

I got this Shimano Spheros 8000 last year and it has been laying around looking for a mate. Need a rod for it I can put on the boat (max 7'6") looking for something that can throw plugs, Slug-go, medium swim shad. Dont want a telephone pole but, I like a fast tip. Budget is $150. Recommendations?

I have a few Tica's which I find very good

You could get two for $150

I read up on them and not sure if the guides have a good history with Power Pro. Any Opinions?

If you go w/ the tica, go for the dolphin w/ better guides. The guides on the ueha model suck...but the blank itself is pretty strong.

not sure on the exact price but i have to say that the entire edge staff is in love with the gloomis pro blue series right now. i recently abused one matched up with the same reel in antigua throwing pencil poppers to mahi and now plan on ordering one myself. other emplyees have landed giant bass and even 60lb bluefin on this same rod.

they may be a bit more then 150, i belive about 200, but the gloomis warrenty more then makes up for the difference

The St.Croix Triumph series rods are worth a look-see also.

Thumbs up g loomis pro blue

i second arden that is a great rod i have used coreys and i love it ..... would realy think about getting the prb844s and that will go for big bass and some mid size tuna ... 10-60 lb bluefin will make that rod happy ..
