Cheif,

You are right...

But so am I.

Good luck tonight.

Default I dont know

I don't know if it makes or breaks anyones fishing if they keep a log. I do like how you are making it sound like a log takes hours to assemble. I keep track in my brain, and when I get home I throw those thoughts into excel. It takes all of 2 minutes. It has however been fun to watch a lot of specific correlations with a log, and the fish. We all know there is no true way to track specific events from one year, and expect the exact to happen the next. However, there are trends that develop over a few years with a log.

agreed. When I used to keep one I would draw out maps of good fishing spots and include some tips. Thinking whoever it was passed onto would go to the same place in the future. Pull it out from underneath a floor panel dust it off and say "Within these pages lies powerful information on the morone saxatilis not to be used for evil"

Anyone find a computer program to use to put ur log in? I think it would be helpful to have graphs and charts to show colors that work and moon phases and weather patturns.

I just make my own using OpenOffice SpreadSheet(any office spreadsheet will do.)

I keep it simple.Date,time,moon,tide,wind,weather.A little note section for bait present, plug used etc.

Though I have to admit I've been quite complacent on keeping a log the last two seasons as I've been way to busy with the homestead, especially this year. Its been hard enough trying to find time just to fish. The last thing I feel like doing is making an entry when I get home, but that's my own shortcoming.

Btw if using the puter to make a log save it to disc on occasion. When I fried my last puter over the Winter I lost all my logs!
