I have yet to catch a monster in rough conditions... but it seems thats what people say... I don't know if its just me... but it seems everytime there is huge surf around here ... the only thing I catch is a nice GLOB OF MUNG.

It depends on too many variables to generalize I think. I've had both situations produce some larger fish. No 40's for me though from the beach.

Bigger water, a steady solid break anyway, can definately help during the daylight hours this time of year in my opinion.

big surf is fun, but usually less productive for me....
ME too. I hear lots about the benefits of surf but always did well on calm black nights. I have fished the big surf but never had the same success with big fish as a calm night.
