Default ZeeBaas question

Pete, I just noticed that you now have the ZB listed in your online store. http://www.saltwateredge.com/ZeeBaas-Reels.html
Quick question for you. I see the power handle listed in the "spools & parts" section. Is it possible to simply purchase the oval knob, or does one have to buy the whole handle assembly? Also, I see the "counterweight assembly" listed, but no description. What exactly is this? Thanks.

You can get just the knob, I'll have to find out what it costs though. I think I have one sitting on the shelf in the shop, not sure what color though.

The counterweight assembly is in case you want just a single roller instead of two.

The Zee Baas section is still a bit of a work in progress, we still have to add some more images and descriptions as well so it should be a little more user friendly soon.

How old is your Z now Toby and how's it been treating you? I can't remember if you had it yet last year...

Default knob...

As it was explained to me, the 25 and 27 comes w/ the power handle already, meaning you only need to purchase the knob if you like that style. With that said the two numbers that are popping into my head are $25 and $49. We did sell one to a customer but I can't remember what the charge was. I feel like it was one of those two numbers. Hopefully the lesser of the two!

My 27 is a little over a month old now. I have about a dozen trips on it and a bunch of fish up to 25 pounds. Nothing huge, but it has worked well. I won't get into the full reviews on it at this time, but so far I am happy.

I thought that the counterweight was as you described, but wanted to be sure. The dual rollers is one thing I am having a hard time getting used to. I thought I would love it, but it causes me more problems than it is worth. The biggest issue I have is knowing which roller to pull the line off of in the dark. Sounds like a minor thing, but it has bothered me enough to considder removing one.

The reel is silver. Let me know if the knob you have is silver and maybe I can grab it this weekend at the breakfast on Sunday when Newport hands over the MS trophy to the CT Surfcasters...

I'm struggling with the dual rollers as well. As weird as it sounds I wish the reel was stiffer. Sometimes the rotor moves when I'm about to cast and I have to stop to double check that my line isn't going to catch on the roller and send my plug or eel over the horizon during a cast. I've had the same night time issue as you also.

I think the knob is silver and I'll most likely be at the breakfast. While 2 years has been a good run I don't think we're ready to give up the trophy just yet. Newport FTW, once again... Now we just have to figure out how to do better in the fall. Not being able to fish our home territory really slows us down.
