| HA good one, no doubt mono es bueno for durability. but distance and capacity is by braid selling feature. is ande back country fairly supple and memory free? anything but the ande ""premium"" pink 20# garbage on one of my reels... |

| I use Ande backcountry mono and have no complaints. I use the 12# on my VS 150 and 20# on my 250. Both reels are backed with about 75 yards of dacron or fly line backing 400 yards (250) of mono is really not needed. I found that the line does carry some memory when first spooled on the reel but after a few days of fishing it only gets better. Steve Mckenna first turned me on to it a couple of years ago and that is all I have used since. Hope that helps. |

| I was using Fireline, and liked it, cast great, but I was losing fish with it on structure, so went to mono. It does not cast as well, but I am on a boat mostly, so don't have to cast far, and am not losing fish with it. My 3 cents.

| what type of knot were you tying? Use no other not knot other than the Palomar knot when using braid. |
