Watch your eels - Bluefish!

Two outings on 5/28 proved the blues are in pretty thick. Fairly constant action on the surface in early AM. Both on the surface and below in the PM. The morning blues were of the skipjack size but took one in the 10lb range on my new SS bottle plug early evening. Slow week for bass but the blues being so thick might mean the bigger bass are about. This week might be hot!

You must have been near where I was. I was being tormented by 1 and 2 pound blues this evening, even after dark.

Occasional bass but culling through them to find a quality fish was hard work. Eventually got one around 14 pounds shortly after dusk.

I can't believe how many silversides are out there. It looked like Ocean Drive in the fall where I was at.

I'm going to head back out and throw some plugs shortly. I'd love to throw an eel or plastic and I may actually try, but I have a feeling the result will be a shortened eel or Sluggo and not a striper...
