softer action than loomis surf ???

I am looking for comparable price and performance!! rods with a bit softer action than the two below rods... i assume lami's are the first choice, would prefer factory built rod reccomendations, but it would be helpful to know which blank# they are using in case i wanna go custom...

fishing braided line from the shore, inlets, coves, jetties, docks, rarely "THE SURF", will compromise some distance for broad range of uses... throwing, eels, chunks, 8" live bunker, chunks/heads, and various weight plugs and tins. WILL CONSIDER switching to conventional for performance and broad usage benefit.

current rods are:
SUR965S Length: 8' Power: 5/Medium Spinning 15 - 30# 1/2 -1 1/2oz Mod-Fast action

SUR1064S Length: 8'10'' Power: 4/Med-Heavy Spinning 15 - 25# 1/2 - 3oz Fast action

Lamiglas is a solid choice and has many production rods to consider. Here are a couple links to some of their rods you may want to consider:

Lamiglas Tri-Flex Inshore - Lamiglas: Tri-Flex Graphite Inshore

Lamiglas Inshore classic - Lamiglas: Graphite Inshore Classic Series

The Tri-Flex series have glass-tipped rods. Maybe the top 1/3 of the rod is glass transitioning into grahpite. Althought they say "fast" action, most are more like moderate fast I would say. The Inshore series is more moderate.

You mentioned a wide range of what you might throw with this type of rod. The ones I listed may be light if you plan on throwing 8" bunker, chunking, eels, big plugs, etc. You may want to look into their Tri-Flex Saltwater series - Lamiglas: Tri-Flex Graphite Saltwater . These are a little heavier. Throwing a tin and throwing a live bunker on the same rod doesn't really yield a good all around rod. You'd be better off doing a rod to handle bait and one for lures.

I've built a lot of custom Lamiglas Tri-Flex rods for customers. The Tri-Flex line-up is great with any braided line.
