I know you guys have prob answed this question before, but do you perfer the bail and manual, and why thanks. I can't decide which way to go.

I'm buying the 250 bailess it seems like less things to get broken...th swe has a video of the bailless it seems pretty easy to get used too

If you're surf-fishing, go bailless. Simple, and less chance of snapping off plugs.

If you also fish from a boat, consider the bail. The bail is more helpful of you are live-baiting or vertical jiggiing.

try to get together w/ someone that will let you fish w/ their bailess and see how you take to it, I converted my 704 with the kit and really liked the transition but it wasn't without bumps and frustrations here and there...just bought the Spheros 14 w/ the bailess option and while I haven't been fortunate enough to fish a VS or Z for any period, I can't imagine a reel operating more flawlessly than this bailess Spheros...fished it the first time in the dark w/ a full spool of new line providing plenty of opportunity for disaster and could not have been happier, I still aspire to owning a VS but for now this thing is fantastic!

Manual bail. It does not take much time to get used to it. One less thing to fail.
