Default Schoolie Spring Bass...

So what's everyones favorite tactics for schoolies in the spring? I've got myself outfitted with a capable rod & reel to throw small stuff but what should I be throwing? Who's got the magic schoolie-producer? Tsunami swim shad? Storms?

And what areas should be targeted (not looking for specific spots, just what to look for)

I flyfish for them . I like a chartreuse and white Clouser. When they're in they will hit just about anything. Great fun on a fly . FishHawk

i've seen flies out fish other artificials when the fish are coming up the narr. bay in droves... i use a small flatwing: tail: saddles: white, lt. yellow, mossy chartreuse, silver doctor blue; collar: mix white, lt. yellow, lt. pink, chartreuse, lavender and turquoise; put some neutral flash and a couple of pieces of black flashabou for a lateral.

I'll put my 3" Tsunami Shads up against your Cocahoes any day.

In Newport anyways.
