Default Schoolie thumb, index finger, and ring finger?

The fishing was VERY good tonight as far as schoolie fishing goes. Even some "big" ones mixed in (mid 20 inch range) and saw a friend land a probable keeper. Both thumbs and index fingers feel like sandpaper.

The keeper of the night though was me. A fat schoolie stuck a 1/0 VMC treble through the tip of my index finger. Thankfully the barb went in and came out, so it was easy to cut and get back to the fishing.

Didn't really hurt at the time, but it hurts right now though.

Don't forget to keep a pair of capable cutters in your vehicle.

Boy this all sounds so good. I am going to take the day off tomorrow and fish finally. Suppose to be nice I think? I will be thrilled to even catch a schoolie or two. If I catch, I will post a picture, but I am a bad fisherman still. Will probably get skunked.

Ni fishing for me again today. Worked all weekend to take today off, and my fishing buddy stiffed me. Sat here all day waiting for him. Should have went out by myself, but launching and loading the boat alone is a bit of a pain. Need to find a new fishing partner to fish off the boat I guess.

i too had a decent night... after a winter of hibernation... my first night out and caught 5 fish... all pretty small... one @ 18in. I'm heading down in about 20 minutes to try some early season spots out.

PS- my index and thumb are pretty roughed up as well... but i love it.

Fished the Narrow River between 10:30 and noon today. 1 schoolie for me on the fly. Another shore angler was doing great with a small shad. No size but fun to get out and get warmed up for the season.

Thumbs up

I just fished for the last 1hr and a half. Tons of schoolies and my thumb is definetly raw. I had to go back to work for a little while, that's the only reason why I stopped!
