Default To Teaser or Not to Teaser

How many of you guys set up a teaser in conjunction with your plugs ?

What is your teaser of choice - if there is such a thing.

Teasers are a great way to increase your chances of hookup. I used teasers all the time untill i started having problems with loosing fish, and plugs for that matter. If you hook a fish on the plug, the teaser is still swimin around in the water and any bluefish that comes by and takes a swipe at your teaser can bite you off. I lost my white mojo danny plug last year because of a teaser. I still do use teasers on occasion if nothing else will get a bite.

I like fishing teasers when nothing else seems to work. Teasers seem to catch at times when nothing else will, something about a larger (or any) fish pursuing another fish that brings out the aggressive, competative nature in other fish. Two times to not fish a teaser are when the blues are in thick as mentioned previously and in areas with a lot of boulders or other underwater structure where the free offering be it the teaser or the plug is likely to hang up. My teaser of choice is usually a Redgill, either a 4" or a 7" although I have heard and read many good things about using a black deceiver.

teasers atract small fish
one more thing that can get snaged in the rocks while fighting a good fish
what happens if you get two big fish on the same time?
one more free fling hook to hook yourself with while landind a fish.
this is why I was told not to use them.so I don't.
